Sending disciples into our congregation and into our community:
The CARE TEAM Ministry is to help build Christian community through maintaining personal connections between our homebound members and our church. Trained volunteers from our congregation visit our homebound members for social contact and spiritual support.
On the third Saturday of each month, FUMC members and friends serve a COMMUNITY FELLOWSHIP MEAL for everyone who is able to attend. The meal is free for all and is served from 11:30am until 12:45pm.
FUMC has a wonderful facility that is admist a beautiful landscape. LAND STEWARDSHIP is carefully planned and maintained by our members. Walking trails are throughout the property and planning is underway for 2018 projects.
There are many ways to give back at First UMC. As Methodists, we know it is a vital part of our faith to be giving as much as we are receiving. Here are some ways you can do OUTREACH through this community.
Our congregation at First United Methodist Church is proud to offer SCHOLARSHIPS to persons of all ages and walks of life, who follow in the United Methodist heritage of life long learning. The scholarship funds are designed to assist United Methodist students in their college and/or seminary training.
The SOCIAL JUSTICE Team focuses on building relationships across the community for systems change, e.g., changes in transportation, education, immigration, sustainability, jobs, homelessness, affordable housing, and public policies which impact these and other areas of community life.
