SOCIAL JUSTICE TEAM

The Social Justice Team focuses on building relationships across the community for systems change, e.g., changes in  transportation, education, immigration, sustainability, jobs, homelessness, affordable housing, and public policies which impact these and other areas of community life.

Made up of representatives from various church ministries, we help coordinate and expand our shared justice work throughout the community and to provide education and awareness within the congregation for our justice ministry. We believe this supports the mission of the church “to create and build Christian community by inviting, forming and sending faithful disciples of Jesus Christ.”

The Social Justice Team members represent our work with ISAIAH’s Great River Interfaith Partnership (GRIP), Promise Neighborhood, UMW, the Third Saturday Community Meal and special projects and education events such as interfaith work on climate change and human trafficking.  Membership is open to any congregation member who wants to help provide leadership for our church’s social justice efforts.

For more information about our Social Justice Team please contact Pastor Randy or one of the co-chairpersons: Carol Gibson Miller or Jane Fark.
