Christian Meditation: A Way of Contemplative Prayer
Begins September 13 on Wednesday's at 6:30pm in the library
Meditation is a form of Contemplative prayer in which we move beyond words, thoughts, and images. We open ourselves to God's mysterious & silent presence within us and it becomes more and more the reality of our lives. From this place of prayer we engage in our work in the world.
During these times of prayer, we sit in silent meditation for a period of time. We enter into this practice in silence. The Contemplative Prayer time includes a reading of scripture, a short reading reflecting on the scripture, some Taize chants and a time of silent meditation. The prayer service lasts about 35 minutes and may include the celebration of the Eucharist.
All are welcome to participate in this time set aside for Contemplative prayer.
