United Methodist Women (UMW)
Who We Are: The United Methodist Women is a lay women’s organization organized for mission. We belong to a global community of Christian women, nearly 800,000 strong, who are dedicated to the same purpose. We are committed to engage in mission study, personal growth, and social action on behalf of women, children and youth in our community and around the world.
Our Purpose: The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ: to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
Our Vision: Turning faith, hope and love into action on behalf of women, children and youth worldwide.
Our Local Unit: Our local unit is directed by an Executive Board of nine officers and includes four Circles that meet once a month in a variety of locations for programs, service projects and fellowship. More information about each Circle can be found here and a schedule of events here.
Our Giving: Our local unit gave over $5,600 last year to support a variety of ministries with women, children and youth in our church, community, nation and in more than 80 countries around the world.
